Do diálogo ao anúncio. Reflexões sobre a Declaração Dominus Jesus

Resumo

A emergência de uma nova sensibilidade macroecumênica constitui um dos traços caracteristicos de nosso tempo: a nova consciência da unidade da família humana. Na contramão desta perspectiva, nos deparamos com a recente Declaração Dominus Iesus, da Congregação para a Doutrina da Fé, assinada pelo cardeal Joseph Ratzinger, em 6 de agosto de 2000. Neste artigo, busca-se fazer um estudo desta Declaração, relacionando-a com a dinâmica do Concílio Vaticano II. O artigo divide-se em quatro partes. Inicialmente, trata-se de captar o significado da Declaração: o grau de sua autoridade, o objetivo visado e os seus eixos fundamentais. Num segundo momento, busca-se refletir sobre os efeitos provocados pela Declaração e sua tensão com a tônica dialogai dos gestos de João Paulo II. Em seguida, aborda-se a novidade da Declaração e o seu descompasso com a atual reflexão teológica cristã sobre o pluralismo religioso.

Abstract: The emergence of a new macro-ecumenical sensibility constitutes one of the characteristic traces of our times: a new consciousness ofthe unity of the human family. Going in the opposite direction oj this perspective, we come up against the recent Declaration Dominus Iesus, ofthe Con- gregation for the Doctrine of Faith, signed by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger on August, 6lh, 2000. In this article, an attempt has been made to study this Declaration, relating it with the dynamics ofthe Vatican Council II. The article is divided into four parts. Initially, it goes about capturing the signifi- cance of the Declaration: the degree of its authority, the objective looked to and its fundamental axes. At second glance, an attempt is made to reflect upon the effects provoked by the Declaration and its tension with the dialogical tone of the gestures of John Paul II. Following this, the novel of the Declaration is treated and its being out of step with the present Christian theological refiection upon religious pluralism.
