As CEBs vão bem, obrigado

Resumo

O autor nega que as CEBs estejam em declínio e afirma sua vitalidade. O importante não é sua maior ou menor presença na mídia; nem se descobrem numa leitura feita a partir das estruturas do poder eclesiástico, mas pela relevância de suas práticas. Há uma tendência de idealizar e simplificar o passado e de não saber ler as contradições do presente, que podem mesmo ser sinais de vigor. As CEBs se inscrevem no clima de uma sociedade pás-industrial, com suas estruturas diversificadas, descentralizadas e articuladas em redes, num novo paradigma de pluralismo. Elas nasceram na realidade dos anos 70, com suas lutas populares, e hoje se abrem às novas perspectivavs ligadas ao gênero, às etnias e à ecologia. São sujeitos eclesiais decisivos, com novos jeitos de ser Igreja, baseados na participação e na presença ativa dos leigos.

Abstract: The Author denies that the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) are in the descendant and ajfirms their vitality. What matters is not their greater or smaller presence in the media, nor are they perceived in a reading from a perspective ofthe structures of Church’s power, but from the relevance of their practices. There is a tendency to idealize and simplify the past and to ignore the contradictions of the present, which may even be signs of vigor. The BECs are inserted in the atmosphere of a post industrial sociery, with its diversified structures, decentralized and articulated in networks, in a new paradigm of pluralism. They emerged in the reality of the seventies, with its popular struggles, and today they open themselves to the new pers- pectives connected with genre, ethnicity and ecology. They are decisive ec-clesial subjects, with new ways ofbeing Church, rooted in the participation and active presence of the laity.
